Our Story
Who we are
Birken was founded in 2013 by Jeff Kendall and David Birkelbach, both graduates of UNF with degrees in Building Construction Management.
Bringing with them over 15 years of commercial construction experience each, Jeff and David embarked on their journey.
They prioritize employing locals and collaborating with nearby subcontractors.
Jeff Kendall and David Birkelbach joined forces with Richard Pittman in 2017 to start Birken Concrete. With Richard’s over 30 years of experience in the concrete industry, and Jeff and David’s knowledge in commercial construction, Birken Concrete has become one of Jacksonville’s top concrete contractors. They prioritize employing locals and collaborating with nearby general contractors.
